Two towering black cliffs jutting out into the sea, with waves crashing against the rocks and creating white foam, form a majestic natural scene. Over time, the rugged cliffs have been weathered and polished by the sea, now glistening under the golden sunlight. Locals call this place Gành Hang.
The entire Gành Hang beach area resembles a crescent, bordered by the blue of the sea and the dark brown of the rocky outcrops. According to Mr. Dương Văn Thạch, a fisherman from Tam Thanh Commune, Phú Quý District:
“This beach is not as wide as Triều Dương Beach, but the scenery here is stunning. That’s why for many years, Phú Quý District has been planning to develop the Bãi Nhỏ – Gành Hang Tourist Area, covering nearly 20 hectares. The sea here is clear blue with a long stretch of fine white sand and gentle waves. Onshore, the flat highlands are ideal for combining beach holidays with leisure and snorkeling to admire the colorful coral reefs. Beside the white sandy beach are cliffs and caves with vertical rock faces right by the sea…”
Gành Hang is a beautiful landscape of the island and a newly emerging, relatively untouched tourist destination. Though there are still few buildings, it offers services that support recreation and relaxation, including delicious local specialties, beach and diving activities. Especially during calm weather, the small beach and Gành Hang at the foot of Chuối Hill become a true paradise of golden sunshine, cool waters, and peaceful space.
When visiting Gành Hang, travelers should not miss the local culinary delights such as:
- Herring salad
- Squid braised in fish sauce
- Spotted babylon salad with mango
- Tràm mushroom
- Sweet and sour cobia soup
- Grilled sea urchin with scallion oil
In July, when the skies are clear and the scenery tranquil, Gành Hang – Bãi Nhỏ becomes the perfect place to immerse oneself in the poetic beauty of nature. The stunning landscapes and unforgettable flavors of Gành Hang leave lasting impressions in every visitor’s memory.
