There is a single tree on the breakwater in Tam Thanh commune, facing the sea, standing alone on the island, which earned it the name “Lonely Tree” of Phú Quý. Yet visitors line up for kilometers waiting their turn to take photos and “live their best life” on social media.
Quickly gaining fame after the movie “Mắt Biếc” and becoming a popular check-in spot for young people, especially during the tourist season, many come here ready to queue just to snap a photo with the tree — especially crowded on weekends.
Some even wait up to an hour for their turn to take pictures with the Lonely Tree, because once they’ve made the effort to come, no matter how busy, they’re willing to wait rather than miss out.
