The Chấn Kha Phú Quý high-speed ferry began operating its first route from Phan Thiết to Phú Quý Island on April 1, 2023. This vessel, originally named Tuần Châu Express II, was renamed and put into operation by Chấn Kha Construction and Passenger Tourism Co., Ltd.
Ferry Features
The Chấn Kha Phú Quý ferry is built to European standards, powered by Rolls Royce engines, and features a premium aluminum alloy hull imported from Italy. It transports passengers between islands and the mainland at a maximum speed of 26 nautical miles per hour, making the trip from Phan Thiết to the beautiful frontline island of Phú Quý in just 2 hours and 15 minutes.
The ferry is 33.9 meters long and 9.6 meters wide, with a hull height of 3.04 meters. It can accommodate up to 300 passengers, with spacious, modern seating—including an 18-seat VIP/business class cabin.
A highlight is the outdoor deck, which holds up to 50 people, allowing passengers to enjoy panoramic sea views and take photos during the journey.
According to the Bình Thuận Department of Transport, this is the fifth high-speed vessel operating on the Phan Thiết – Phú Quý route. It contributes significantly to the fast and efficient transportation of passengers and goods between the mainland and the island.
Despite launching with only one vessel, Chấn Kha Phú Quý has quickly become a preferred option for travelers booking tickets from Phan Thiết to Phú Quý. The ferry offers a scenic and comfortable experience, with views of Phan Thiết City, Phú Quý Island, and its many rock islets—a perfect sightseeing journey.
Reliability in Harsh Weather
Chấn Kha Phú Quý plays a vital role during storms and rough seas. While other transport options are forced to suspend service in level 6 sea conditions, this ferry is designed to operate in waves up to level 7, making it currently the only passenger vessel capable of maintaining service between the island and mainland under such conditions.
