Currently, Phu Quy Island has five village communal houses (đình làng) dedicated to worshipping the Thành Hoàng Bổn Cảnh (the village tutelary gods), as well as the pioneer ancestors (tiền hiền, hậu hiền) who contributed to the establishment and development of the villages and communal houses.
Most of the village communal houses on Phú Quý Island face the sea. Compared to communal houses on the mainland, those in Phú Quý are generally smaller and lower in height, possibly due to the island’s weather and climate conditions. The amount of wood used in their architecture is also less, not to mention that over time, through many spontaneous repairs by local people, traditional materials have often been replaced by modern construction materials like reinforced concrete.

However, the royal decrees honoring the village tutelary gods no longer exist.
