The Trưng Trắc high-speed ferry is one of the twin-hull catamaran vessels operated by Phu Quoc Express Joint Stock Company. It was launched and put into service in 2019 and remains in operation to this day. This vessel is also one of the three largest twin-hull high-speed ferries in Vietnam and was entirely constructed domestically.
The Trưng Trắc is a 5-star standard CATAMARAN with a length of 47 meters, a width of 12 meters, and a capacity of 598 passengers. One of the major advantages of twin-hull high-speed vessels is their enhanced safety, balance, and stability, significantly reducing seasickness—making them ideal for transporting tourists from the mainland to islands across Vietnam.
The vessel’s interior design includes a VIP cabin with 30 seats, each equipped with wireless headphones and individual entertainment screens offering a wide selection of international-standard content. The upper deck features 176 standard seats, while the lower deck accommodates 392 seats. All passenger seats are made with premium leather and can recline up to 130 degrees, ensuring maximum comfort.
All onboard equipment is newly and luxuriously outfitted with modern technology. The spacious, soundproof passenger cabins create a peaceful environment, enhancing comfort and reducing fatigue for both passengers and crew.
Externally, the Trưng Trắc is constructed from premium aluminum alloy imported from Italy and includes an outdoor upper-deck area. The vessel is fully equipped with a synchronized and comprehensive safety system, including two large lifeboats, life buoys, and personal life vests placed along the hull and above each seat for passengers and crew.
The ferry is powered by four Rolls-Royce MTU engines, delivering a total output of 7,404 horsepower and allowing a maximum speed of 35 knots (approximately 65 km/h). These engines meet international maritime environmental standards. With its Rolls-Royce engines, the Trưng Trắc can travel swiftly and stably across open seas.
The vessel is equipped with the latest European-standard navigation and maritime meteorological systems, ensuring operational safety. It is capable of operating in harsh weather conditions, including wind and wave levels of 7 to 8, while still minimizing seasickness for passengers.
Overall, in terms of design, equipment, and service quality, the Trưng Trắc high-speed ferry fully deserves recognition as one of the highest-quality passenger vessels currently operating routes between the mainland and Vietnam’s islands and island districts.
The Trưng Trắc has proven its stability and flexibility by being regularly deployed across various routes serviced by Phu Quoc Express—the largest high-speed ferry operator in Vietnam. It has served multiple routes such as Côn Đảo, Phú Quốc, Nam Du, and most recently, Phan Thiết–Phú Quý and vice versa. Other prominent routes include Vũng Tàu – Côn Đảo, Cần Thơ – Trần Đề – Côn Đảo, Cà Mau – Nam Du – Phú Quốc, and Đà Nẵng – Lý Sơn.
For most passengers, the primary criteria when choosing a high-speed ferry are not just affordable fares, but also safety and service quality. On any route it operates, the Trưng Trắc is a top choice among travelers. Moreover, the ship’s crew—including captains, engineers, and service staff—are carefully selected by Phu Quoc Express for their extensive experience, professionalism, friendliness, and enthusiasm.
